Reminiscing

I am taking up the challenge from Melinda!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you! reminisce away...

I have always been amazed at how much you seem to have it together! You make everyone around you or that you come in contact with feel accepted, appreciated and loved, especially the quite one or the one that is not noticed as much. I know that we have had a lot of interactions, but one that always stands out in my mind (and I know this is silly and I hope I don't get you in trouble) is when you gave a Relief Society lesson, and you talked about how someone had given your daughter underwear that were way too sexy and you had to be strict and enforce in your home the standards that you believe in. At that point I realized that you are a normal human that has become the kind sweet person that you have in spite of the challenges and opportunities that you have faced. And that we ALL have challenges, and that I TOO can be more kind and reach out to those around me despite the difficulities that I come in contact with. Thank you for your example!

All my memories of you are good ones because you are always so sweet. I guess that is my best memory.... you always with a smile on your face and kindness in your eyes. In all these years I've never seen you any other way.

My second best memory is of you painting my yard signs. You are so artistic. I still use them today and think of you every time I enter my front door.

I am so lucky to know you. Thank you for being so special.

The first time I ever saw you, I was a brand new Beehive. We were at a stake-wide fireside, and you came up and gave me a hug and called me by name. Eleven years later, I STILL remember that moment. I felt so special to come out of Primary into this new program where a total stranger knew my name and wanted to make sure I was comfortable and taken care of. :)

(This does not include the countless memories at Girls Camp.)

When I was at a wedding and you and I were talking about dating and you were so sweet in what you said! I always love running into you in Corona, you always make me feel great!

oh wow, where do i start??!!
one of my first memories of you is from camp and that before we settled down to sleep late at night, you and your counselors in the stake YM presidency sang to us your cute little songs and cheers!! I remember those songs being very comforting as a young beehive away from home.
You're so gifted, happy, spiritual and a mother to all. I have always felt LOVED from you and am so happy to have these sweet memories with such a remarkable woman as yourself!

I have several... but my FAVORITE will always be how you saved my family earlier this year with some AMAZING food at a time I REALLY NEEDED it. I can't tell you how much that meant to me.
All the millions of kisses you have given my kids...
And being brand new to the ward... showing up at the ward Christmas party...HUGELY pregnant. I didn't really know anyone, but you came to chat...and I found out you had 8 kids..all as close in age as mine. I was BEGGING you for motherhood survival advice.

I STILL want those recipes...and I will always look to you for wisdom in raising a big family close in age. You are and will always be a friend and mentor to me. LOVE YOU!

I love that so many of these comments are from former Young Women. I always stood in awe of you when we served together and the way you could communicate with the girls.

My memories of you too are of the years we served together in the Stake YW. Fun years!!! But I also love that no matter how much time goes between our visits now, it's as if no time at all has gone by...the mark of true friendship. Love ya!

We'll go with my first memory of you....you were teaching relief society and it was my first Sunday in the Eastvale ward. Your lesson was on modesty and I was so impressed with you love of the gospel, dedication to live gospel standards, and awesome testimony. I've always looked to you as an example of a wonderful mother in Zion and awed at your depth in wisdom.

Plus you have got the most alluring laugh and it makes everyone around you feel comfortable and loved.

I will forever remember girls camp when you and my mom and Sis. Benson served together and sang to us at night (particularly 'Goodnight Sweetheart'). That is a treasured memory to me. Your sweet smile and warm hugs have always been an inspiration to me of a great mother, young women's leader, and friend. :) love you!

I've only met you once maybe a couple of times but you were always so nice and accepting of me. I've enjoyed getting to know you even more through the blogs. Thanks for all the sweet comments you leave on our blog.

Just like the rest of my generation...this is a camp memory...I remember the amazing, loving "BATH" Girls. You guys were seriously the kindest, sweetest women on earth and I always felt SO loved by you, in particular. You always greeted me with a smile and a hug and I couldn't get enough of it. I felt safe and very loved when I was around you. One memory in particular was when Katie, Randi,(someone else) and I sat all of you down at camp one night and sang "L-O-V-E" to you. We ment every word! I remember you guys cried for some reason.

There are so many great memories with the Holmes Family! You are an amazing, spiritual, strong mother and I look up to you so much. You are such a great example. I have lots of memories of lessons you have taught at church and at girls camp that have touched my heart throughout the years. I am so lucky that I was able to grow up with your kids and to learn from them, because they learned from the best! We Love You!

I have lots of fun memories with you and the rest of the family...best time of my teenage life. I've never forgotten them. Even if many of them are of Skip "beating me up" ;) ...I remember lots of laughing!

I guess those BATH girls were really a hoot because that was the first thing that popped into my head. Girls camp and Sister Holmes teaching and frequently incorporating singing into her lessons. You were such a great leader. I hope you know the good impact you have had on so many of us!

I really do appreciate all of you girls and your camp memories! I have loved watching you all grow into the fabulous women you are. Marrying in the temple and starting your own families as the Lord intended for you!!

My first memories? .... let's see... "Oh, Lori, is that a bruise?"... or ... "you're on my side of the bed!" CHOP!... But later... the mentor, the example, "have you prayed about it?", "have you gone to the temple with that?", and the immense love you show to me, my husband and my boy! I LOVE YOU!!
